Lava Hot Springs

In July we camped at Lava Hot Springs for 3 nights so the kids could go to swimming lessons Monday thru Thursday.  We went with our good friends, the Madsens and Tolmans. The kids learned a lot during their 1 hour swimming lessons and really enjoyed it.   They had their lessons every morning and then we had the rest of the day to play at the swimming pools/slides/platforms and we also went tubing down the Portneuf River. Each family took a turn cooking dinner, which turned out to be some really good dutch-oven cooking.  We had so much fun and definitely want to do this again sometime.

Brooke learning to float.

Brooke was in Level 3

Tyler learned all sorts of different strokes and practiced diving, he was in Level 4.

Kennady was in Level 2.

Warming up in the hot water after floating the river

Even the moms got away for a float down the river

Jake went down with the kids while I stayed with Cody. I guess the first trip down was pretty eventful because both Tyler and Brooke flipped their tubes going down a little waterfall.

Brooke, Tyler and Jake jumped off the first platform. Then Jake and Jeff jumped off of the highest platform and lived to tell about it. HaHa

Brooke, Cody and I relaxing in the shade.

Like father, like son.

The last day I finally got up the nerve to go down the speed slides. I survived!!
